More from H + Waggy + Me + pycache:
Maybe can you add beach, mountains, trees etc?
pseaz, It would be lots of work, especially with the map size, but I'll try.
pycache, the new editor can generate coasts and cliffs.
mountains, trees etc are necessary too for a realistic experience
pseaz, is this the playtest, bc I was trying to see if claude could generate a world map, and it sorta did it, but it generated sheets of lines for some reason. I'll see what I can do this week. Also, I'll probably want to scale the map down by 1/2 each side, because it's soooo big.
Nooooo please! Don't reduce size! there are a lot of world maps 1/2 size. What makes your map unique and wonderful is precissely that is super big. don't reduce it! its great to have a very big map with the entire world of it. You can simulate very realistic world wars.
can you ask claude to generate it with mountains in the world places with known mountains? like everst? same with rivers, cliffs? If you create a realistic world map with this huge size whould be incredible to play it.
pseaz, I might do both, but the thing is with a map this big is it takes a very very long time to end a match, and the game gets really laggy and slow (unless you have a threadripper or something. I'll see if I can iterate upon claude.
I'll work on the smaller map bc that would be 4 times as fast to make and play. Then if I finish, I'll work on the bigger one.
take in cosideration that there are already a lot of 814 x 332 world maps, so yours will be simply another one.
On the other hand 1601x740 is unique here.
Maybe there are some tricks to make it not laggy?
psaez, all the tricks I know of are already implemented in this map. You would need a beast of a computer to run this thing fully decorated. On the bright side, Claude now knows where to place tiles (he made a map that had outlines of continents, so that's nice.) This map would take 4 times as long to make than the smaller one I had in mind, but I'll see what I can do.
any news?
still working on it slowly but surely
