Thanks! I carved out the shores using a screenshot of google maps that I scaled to a matching 498x538 pixel jpg, and took also some "artistic freedoms" to it. If there are tools to convert pixel values to map terrain I don't know of any, that would certainly have saved some time :D
@Soltre there is SirCake's mod for that, I think it's this one https://github.com/CH4Code/OpenRA/tree/MapSketchImporter
Allows importing pre-made bitmap into map editor, replacing colors with terrain/tiles/overlays/actors of your choice. Enjoy :P
