This has been modified to render Africa a useless wasteland - no ore and no spawns. Previously, Africa was getting too many spawns and acting like a second Europe. There is only ONE Europe!

Do you use any tools to make these detailed maps?
I remember using gif paintings to generate terrain in other games, but no clue about how editor for openra works (unless everything is done by hand)
I have a script that generates water-land terrain (no coastlines) from real GIS data. I noticed that OpenRA has PNG image files in which each pixel represents at "cell" in the game, but I can't figure out how to convert those into the ".oramap" format. My script just writes ".oramap" directly with only blank water and land tiles...and then I just manually add ore/gems and spawns in Map Editor within the game.
Can you give me a link to where I can find more inormation about this script that generates terrain from real gis data? I would really want to take a swing at openRA mapping! Thanks so much in advance
If you're starting out mapping, just use the Map Editor within the OpenRA game. The script only exists on my laptop, haha.
If the OpenRa development team (or anyone else) wants my script, we can negotiate a price :)
Check out the maps called "Realistic Earth", "Realistic Indonesia", and "Realistic Japan" for examples.
I know how the ingame editor works :p it just lacks the tools to make accurate maps, like yours. Guess I'll have to be patient then :p

by the way, no one will pay for a map generator that don't add shore lines to the maps :)
OK OK, I can modify it to add shore lines...and the price would be super low. I can just upload it to some website that will allow you to download it for like $10. I am unemployed right now, so I kind of like buying food.
